I need to have a tooth pulled. It is the far back bottom tooth same side as my CI. Has anyone had any nerve issues after dental work and CI surgery. Keep in mind how far from normal I react to things:giggle:

Thanks!!!

Angel, you're a mess! :giggle:
I don't have a CI and it's been nearly 40 years since I've any teeth pulled so can't advise.
Hope it goes well for you.

Wow...I didn't think anyone pulled teeth anymore....:eek3:

Yes they still pull teeth and I am one of those unlucky ones I guess. It had an apsis so I had a root canal but the tooth still died. I was going to wait it out because I just don't want to deal with anything else while my broken leg is healing but it hurts now and my jaw is swollen.

I just want to make sure that having oral surgery won't mess with any of the nerves around my CI. Need to have a good cry and get all this out of my system then back to looking forward to a healthy New Year.

you can email your CI surgeon's office or call them about this.

every time i see dentist he takes teeth out,he will use word yank it out wish he stop..when i gave up smoking last year i used a little plastic inhalator with the nic cartridge,i shoved it in my mouth so hard i knock three teeth and they had to come out,so scared of front plate shooting out when i seeze i wear scarf around me face all the time...i had back teeth done it did not effect my ears

no I've not had issues and had to lose the wisdom bottoms shortly after the first CI. My only recommendation is to leave the CI at home while they're doing their thing

lol I'm glad I was out when I had my wisdom teeth out. IV sedation, was great. Slept through the whole thing. And I had this done long before I got my CI so I didn't have to worry about any nerves possibly affect the CI or whatever.

Had 4 impacted wisdom teeth taken out under GA (stitches too) Stiff jaws for few days afterwards, no problem with it affecting the CI.
