used to, as in " i am used to it" or "don't worry they'll get used to it." seems like it is something off the left arm. of course i cannot find it on any websites.

If u have VP, I can show u cuz I suck at describing ASL signs. Ask your deaf friends?

It is hard to describe things in short posts, without visuals.

Of course, all these suggestions depend on context, too.

For "I am used to it" you can use the "HABIT" sign for most situations, or that you "NATURALLY" do something a particular way. (This is really hard to explain without knowing the "it" reference.)

"Getting used to" something depends on context. It could mean developing a habit, or putting up with something unpleasant, or accepting something that can't be changed or blending in with new group or situation.

Try to focus more on the basic meaning of an utterance rather than "word-to-sign" or "phrase-to-phrase" matching.

Each word/sign/phrase can have multiple meanings and interpretations.

Shel, I had the same question. I was wondering if you can show me, on the VP.

Unfortunately i don't have VP. There is another thread about the difficulty for hearing to get one. How much do they cost? I need a better internet connection anyway, Clearwire sux.
Although one friend in conversation was saying she was used to seeing a certain thing and she did the sign for habit but both hands were "U" i would assume for "used to" i was like THANK YOU!!! good lord i have been looking for that for such a long time!! But i know that probably wont fit all situations.

Right Right...I keep forgetting that hearing people dont get VP as easily.

yeah because i would like to talk to my friends other than on my SK or computer. I enjoy signing!!

I've seen HABIT initialized with "U" on the top hand for "used". But I've never seen it with two hands. That might be a regional variation.
