One Deaf mother's perspective

The child has the best of both worlds and it seems like ASL helped him to progress quickly with spoken language development due to having a strong first language. Not surprised here cuz I see the same with many other deaf children with CIs who are bilingual.

Great story hopefully it will help to shatter the misrepresentations and stereotypes about cochlear implants that still exist today. Also, the CI is and always has been a great resource and source of support for parents considering a cochlear implant for thier child.

They are very helpful. I'm glad I found them. They are always there to answer a CI question, especially on the week-end when the audiologist is closed!

There are a couple of people who are on the extreme in their pro-ci views but overall its not a place for debate (thankfully) but for information and support.
