I am in the Washington, DC area. I moved here from Memphis, Tennessee. I am a hearing individual with a passion for ASL and the deaf community. In Tennessee I had a large group of deaf friends. I have not been able to locate/get involved with the deaf community in the DC area (Manassas, VA to be more exact) and would like to take a stab at finding some friends here.
I am a student as well, but absolutely none of my assignments will ask me to depend on anyone in the forum for the answer. Besides, I would not disrespect you in that manner.
