I think I needed time for it to sink in.

I'm not happy with this latest analog aid either. I have a very hard time with most voices, and sounds are not as clear as they once were with it. I don't like the fact that my car alarm and beeps at the supermarket scanning machine make a vibrating sensation in my right ear.

I'm going to investigate and see if I can take the path of DeafDude1 and find the absolute perfect programming for my loss. With digitals I never had the sensations. I have the whole summer and can make multiple appointments if need be with the vacation time I now have.

There was one week in my life where I've heard perfectly. I had borrowed the next model up of the GN ReSound Canta 7 while they were working on fixing my model at the time. I had never had such clarity and power. And I never did again.

I'm going to find the perfect model and programming for my right ear's hearing loss.

Here goes round...#...1,000 this year?

Update: So now I gotta get wax cleaned out of my ears, which apparently seems to be causing some of the latest issues. Hopefully doing that will clear the majority of these issues up.

Plus, it's time for me to get a new earmold anyways as well.

Bah.

You're hearing weird sounds from electronic devices? It could be that you have your hearing aid in T mode.

Most analog hearing aids have 3 modes... M mode, T mode, MT mode.

M mode is microphone mode. This is the standard mode. You hear everything like everyone else.

T mode is telephone mode. This will help you hear sounds on telephones. It also blocks out regular background sounds except what you hear on the phone. (If someone was talking to you and that someone was in a room with a crying baby, you would hear the crying baby. If you were in a room with a crying baby and that crying was loud enough to be transmitted in the mouthpiece of your phone, then you could hear the crying as well.) This mode also picks up other electronic signals such as security systems, cell phone transmissions, brakes (in your car), etc.

MT mode is both microphone and telephone mode. It's both combined. In your case, it sounds like you have it in MT mode since you're hearing both regular sounds and electronic sounds.

VampyroX - Thank you for your help. However, I'm certain that's not the case. My analog only has 3 modes - M, T, and Off. No MT mode.

Really? What kind of hearing aid is it?

The analog hearing aid I used to have... had 3 modes. But it was tricky.

It had a dual switch.

The tiny black horizontal switch was for M and MT. The big beige vertical switch was for M, T, and OFF. If the black switch was set at M, then the big switch would be OFF, T, and M. If the black switch was set at MT, then the big switch would be OFF, T, MT.

vampyro- Mine is the Unitron US80-PP. Mine isn't a dual switch, though. It has one single switch with M, T, and O.

I have unitron BE55 DA. I have no idea whats the difference to yours. It has single switch too M T O just like yours and volume control 1 to 4.

you should really try oticon sumo analog or digital version, they're most powerful one on market if it doesnt do the trick, theres nothing else except ci

I wear an oticon digital version and it has M 1 2 on it . I use the M to talk to people in person and #2 on the phone. Some time I forget to put it back on M and I will here noise . My HA also beep 2x when I put in on #2 and beep 1X when I put it back on M. It took awhile to get using all the beeping! I had to have the beeping turn down! The beeps are to remind to put in back on M but I still forget to do it!

Well, having my ears cleaned (yes, even dead ears need cleaning too) seems to have done the trick. Things seem noticeably clearer. Whew. Now all I need is a new ear mold and I'll be all set for the next half year or so.
