I brought a Reader digest for the hell f and thy have an article about the importance of reading to your child and there was not one about reading to a deaf or hoh child by using ASL . This RD October 2014 book.
Most articles are written for the general public. Deaf issues, or educational issues for special needs, can be found in educational magazines and journals. They very rarely would be featured in People magazine, women oriented magazines or Reader's Digest.

I'm sorry that you were never read to Bebonang. Every child should be given the tools to fuel their imagination.
I don't remember my parents reading to me. They might have; I just don't remember. I do remember reading to myself.
Oh, I think it's a good idea to read to children. There been a lot of talk of how importance reading is in low income families to help their kids get ahead it school , I saw something on the news about this and there was nothing about kids that deaf or hoh kids in low income families . I could not help but notice it.

I guess the story was emphasizing the income of the families, not the abilities of the children. That could be a topic for a future story but it's rather specific.
That sounds like it was about income then. I don't see why deaf and hoh kids in low income families wouldn't be eligible for books, too.No it was not the income on the families , there is a program out to give books to low income families so theirs kids can get ahead in school. The families can't afford to buy any books , I thought it would had been nice to had included deaf and hoh kids from low income families in this program .
There was not one hoh kid in the report on TV, this really bothered me.

Yeah, when I was a kid I cleaned out the library. What is wrong with low-income family going to the library to borrow children's books? They don't have to pay for the books. All they have to do is fill out the library cards and borrow some books to read to the children. But we need pictures and sign language books for children so that they can follow the storytelling, I think. And it is good idea if there is a Deaf storyteller with group of Deaf children and hearing children (CODA). That would help.
The low-income parent don't have to go to the store and force themselves to buy books.
Library is the way to go, eh?
Yeah, when I was a kid I cleaned out the library.
