anything to keep the market expanding...remember the goal posts for the first ones?

no surprise, colonialism and assimilation can be graphed on a chart for practices and such....
 
This is study done by hospital, oh I forgot the doctors and the FDA are never right about anything. If one of those doctors said it was beautiful day you would swear it was stone night. This was just some info for my fellow HA and CIs users.

You stated anything to expand the market. That is in my view is slandering the doctors, researchers & and those brave volunteers who helped develop the Hybrid CI.

not at all, it was a statement of economics within the current hyper-capitalism extant in the medical tech industry and big pharma, manifesting in such entities as multinational corporations, which they themselves will use in market forecasts..

While you have the most highly negative view of these corporation. The research required to develop the Hybrid and get FDA approval probably cost a couple billion dollars. Who else but these corporate entities have that kind of capital? Also there can be no market for anything without demand and not everybody likes the challenges of severe hearing loss as much as you seem to. No disrespect invented but some of us want out as bad as you wish to stay in this situation. Just like you want us to respect your right to continue in this situation please respect our right to make use of modern tech to connect with the hearing world or reconnect.

You did call the article an attempt to expand the CI market. There are people who are in a limbo land that is a very fun place to be. Not bad enough to qualify for a traditional CI but not good enough in the hearing department for HAs to help. The Hybrid was developed for that group and some members of that group wanted more of a solution than just ASL. That is what all good businesses do, respond to the needs of their customers. I posted the article for information for my fellow HA & CI users. This is a forum for those users.

There is the issue... clearly stated ... so the forum is only for CI and HA users? So do you believe the eradication of Deaf is benefical?
 
No the article was just for them because they may interested in the result of the study and others may be interested in investigating the Hybrid because it may fit their situation.

What I understand C-Nice to be saying in a different way is that this section of AD is here so that those interested in HAs and CIs can easily find posts in one place. Nothing to do with the eradication of Deaf.

Yep, even checked... thread heading is hearing aide & cochlear implant... does not say that it has to be in support of or only about the technology and use behind it. There have been numerous studies done surrounding this that shows the various companies, organizations, and groups surrounding this has a direct link to the decline and suppression of the Deaf... why should others not be allowed to add their opinion? Unless only one opinion is allowed here... forms are for discussion and discussion permits the use of all sides, not just one. People should be allowed to read and understand all sides of a product they are considering to use or are using...Besides it would be sad world if we all thought a like.
 
Which is worse: Alldeaf banning political discussion or Alldeaf supporting or giving space to the propagation of the CI and clamping down on those of us who are against the product for whatever reasons........??

Where is the clamping down? Some have expressed that they think the posts against the product have been "over the top" but I don't remember seeing any "clamping down".

There may not be much actual clamping down because there are, I believe, a lot of us using a heap of restraint lest there be a lot of clamping down..
