I have been reading alot of thread and trying to understand and gather as much info as i can about hearing loss and aid.
This forum (and other forums) helped me alot on understanding and coping in a way. So i finally decided to join the forum!
Short backround:
At the age of 12 i woke up one morning with a loud jet engine like ringing in my left ear... Ignored hearing loss for many years. Well 20+ years after i finally decided to admit and get helped.
Went to see an Audiologist at Kaiser and gave me these results:
200 500 1k 2k 4k 6k 8k
L 10 25 -- 65 70 -- 35
R 25 25 40 50 45 -- 60
SRT
RT- 40 84%/70dB
LT- 50 40%/85dB Masking 60
Costco tech
Audio
R - 250-500-1k-1.5k-2k-3k-4k-6k-8k
30-35-40-45-55-50-50-40-50
L - 20-25-70-70-65-65-70-65-70
Can someone help me what these number mean on my hearing loss? Well i did some research but still not clear to me. My audi didnt explain the numbers much. More like a blank stare and setting up an appointment for the hearing aid.
I am going back to discuss hearing aids next week with the Kaiser audi. Any advice on type of aid etc?
Also, what HA fits my loss? CIC, RIC etc? I tried the Kirkland IRC HA at costco and will try the others next week for a comparison. I dont know how tell what needs to be tweaked since its my very first HA. Hope to get more helped on my situation.
