Hey everyone! My name's Jessica and I'm obviously new around here. I'm actually hearing, but I have Deaf family members and I'm interested in working with Deaf students. I'm a senior at the University of South Carolina (go Gamecocks!), majoring in English/Secondary Education.

I joined this forum because I figured it would help me interact with the Deaf community, and because I just absolutely LOVE forums and talking to people. Hopefully, some of you folks can also point me in the direction of some events in my area.

Looking forward to talking with everyone! :D

Welcome! I'm also from SC! Do you happen to intern at the USC Speech & Hearing Center? I am a CI recipient and obtain updates to the implant from there. My audiologist (Wendy Potts) is superb in the CI program. :)

No, I sure don't! That sounds absolutely fascinating, though. :) I actually didn't even know we had a Speech and Hearing Center...looks like I'm really out of touch. I'll have to check that out!

Yeah, I get that a lot. But you gotta love back-talking teenagers, right?
