New York (CNN)An explosion ripped through the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City Saturday night injuring dozens and a second device with wiring was found blocks away, authorities say.

Police officers and federal agents were scouring the streets with flashlights, robots and dogs to ensure there were no other devices in the area.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters early indications are that the explosion at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan that injured 29 "was an intentional act." Investigators believe the blast was caused by an explosive device in or near a dumpster, a law enforcement source told CNN.

Police have video from businesses on the street where the explosion occurred, which could yield key details about the hours before the attack. Investigators are looking at surveillance video appearing to show a person near where the explosion at the 23rd street location occurred, according to a local and federal law enforcement official. Investigators are trying to determine if that individual is connected to the explosion.

De Blasio says "there is no evidence at this point of a terror connection" and there is no "credible and specific threat" to New York City. Police have increased security across the five boroughs as a precaution, a law enforcement source told CNN.

As first responders converged on the explosion site and began blocking off streets in the Chelsea neighborhood, attention soon turned to a second device.
Blocks away from the first explosion, what appears to be a pressure cooker with dark colored wiring coming out of the top center of the device was found, according to multiple local and federal law enforcement officials.

The device is connected by silver duct tape to a small dark colored device attached to the outside of the pressure cooker, according to multiple local and federal law enforcement officials.

None of the officials would say at this point what was inside the pressure cooker.
CNN has viewed an image of the device verifying the description.

Some residents in the area say they were told to stay away from windows when police were searching the area.

Police combed the second location with flashlights, looking under cars, looking in trash cans and looking in doorways, CNN's Richard Quest reports.

This incident was only a matter of time....and it won't be the last by a long shot; homeland security is a joke under this administration. We're just not prepared to deal with something like this, and thankfully, we're not Europe or this would probably happen more often. I wonder how long it'll take before we ban pressure cookers.....

It is awfull this happened.
I won't ever be able to wrap my head around how one comes to do it...

But I don't really get the comparison to Europe or anywhere really.

The odds in Europe are the same as here. It only takes 1 crazy person...

Edit : post written while in nyc, to avoid any confusion

Oh ok. Thanks for letting me know. I hope it does not happen again for a long time.

It is speculation so our security isn't perfect.

It is possible for domestic terrorist, not international terrorist.

If you say like that, it does same applies to GWB Admin as well.

I don't think that security under any circumstance is perfect.

If it is case with terrorist, haters switched from international terrorists to domestic terrorist so they can relies on citizen to attacking us.

There is other way to make bombs instead of pressure cooker.

There is 3 incidents since last nigh.. stabbings in Minnesota, bombs in NY and NJ. ISIS did claim responsibility for MN attack. Fortunately no fatalities in either of 3 incidents.

Wow, this is scary!:

"Police and witnesses said the man, wearing a private security company uniform, entered Crossroads Mall on Saturday night around 8 p.m. CT, made a reference to Allah and asked at least one person if they were Muslim before he attacked."

Who can we trust?

NY mayor said there is no connection with terrorist.
Not exactly. He said we don't know yet.

"We know it was a very serious incident, but we have a lot more work to do to be able to say what kind of motivation was behind this," New York Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters Sunday. "Was it a political motivation? Was it a personal motivation? We do not know that yet."

It was CNN said last night before they probably edited.

I found one about what I'm means.
Mayor Bill de Blasio ruled out any terror connections, but called the blast an "intentional act."

The mayor is clueless.

:dunno:

One of attack (in Minnesota) is related to ISIS but they could lied to us or just ISIS sympathizer from immigrant, migrant or citizen.

In MN case, Dahir Adan is migrant from Somalia.
