Hi all,

I am a 24 HOH person that was diagnosed as a small child. However, Dr's are unable to tell the cause of my hearing loss. I have a normal hearing left ear and a mild-moderate hearing loss in my right ear. This loss is not so much volume as it is understanding speech. The specialist I saw as a child told me that there could be a problem between my cochlea and my brain, but they could not give me a definite diagnosis. I tried a hearing aid as a child but was unable to adjust to it as it did not help the clarity of speech. I have been wearing an Oticon Delta hearing aid for 4 years off and on with subtle change IMO. I am nowabout to upgrade to the Oticon Intiga 10 in hopes that the new technology will help my condition. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. The struggles I have had throughout my life to hold conversations and so forth have been very frustrating. I am actually considering trying to learn ASL in the future in case my hearing worsens somehow. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated.
