Hi, I'm Kristine. I'm 48 and have worn hearing aids all my life, up until the past few years, I've done good with them. Then in February I was told there was nothing more that could help me except the CI. so on 4/16 I got my first CI for my right ear and on 4/23 I was "turned on". It's been a challenge to say the least. I get frustrated because I can't hear, and all these unfamiliar sounds give me a headache. I've been mapped twice so far and everything sounds like Minnie Mouse for the most part, but I do hear things I've never heard before and music is really good. and I have had the volume tuned down, so the headaches are going away, guess it was way too loud. I have the Med-el Opus 2, as this was what my dr recommended and I knew nothing of CIs. I want to share and hear from others, and learn as I go.

Kristine
