Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards, as is probably evident from my post count.

A little about myself, my name is Richard, I'm from the lovely and wet United Kingdom, specifically from a welsh town called Aberystwyth.

I am hearing, but I am currently learning British Sign Language Level 2, with my exam coming up January 2007

Is there any problem with me frequenting these boards as a hearing person?

How is everyone anyway?

There's no problem in you being hearing and frequenting this forum...

:welcome: to AD!

I love your Sig line by the way

"Life is short - Fuck hard"

line to live your life by I think.

Welcome Richard to AD.. No it is not a problem having you here as there are other hearing people in here. We are happy to have you with us! Enjoy the stay and good luck on learning BSL.. :)

No! Hearing people are not allowed here!

Just kidding! We welcome everyone! We have interpreters, kids of deaf parents, parents of deaf kids, etc.

So... Welcome to AllDeaf! Enjoy your stay! :thumb:

Hello and welcome to Alldeaf Richard! Hope you'll enjoy your stay here in AD! ;)

Have a great day!

Thank you all, you all seem very welcoming. I can see the Irish sea out my window.... almost, I'm practically there. Although Holyhead hides, you think it's closer than it is. That was my longest lunch break ever.

I think I need to find somwhere with a larger deaf community so I can actually use my BSL skills.

Close. Do you mean Fag?

In America you use it as gay, in britain it is usually used to mean cigarette.

Thanks for sharing with me. Finally I now know. sometime it is confused. I am glad you explain to me.

I wouldn't worry, anything else you need to know just ask. I guess you don't get it all. I'm sure there a comment on the whole thing in Will and Grace maybe, possibly somewhere else. On the explanation between the two that is.

I always find it funny that most Americans don't understand the word "Wanker".
