"Nobody's Perfect" draws on the childhood experiences of Marlee
Matlin, and is a companion to an earlier book called "Deaf Child
Crossing". Her new book is another story of Megan, who is planning
for her positively purple birthday sleepover. When Megan finds out
that a new girl is rude and aloof, she thinks the girl is just shy
but then begins to suspect the girl is treating her differently
because of her hearing loss. A funny book that will have readers
rooting for the spirited young girl. On sale now for only $13.95
(regularly $15.95). Sale ends June 4, 2006.

Meh......I got Deaf Child Crossing for Christmas, and it's OK......but not fablously written...the only reason why she was able to sell it is b/c she's a celeb. Oh well, at least her writing skill is FAR FAR better then Heather Whitestone's (who should write for Chicken Soup for the Schmaltzy Soul)

You're kidding? A Deaf ASL'er (Grew up using ASL, right?) writes better than an Oral deaf person? Wow! JK

She grew up in a total communication program, actually, but she uses ASL now. Her alma matter (I'm hoping I didn't screw that up) is pretty well known for their deaf program, and they tend to do well in the Gallaudet-sponsored academic bowl competitions.

Well in terms of grammer they are both pretty decent. Actually most oral deaf folks have difficulty with written expression. It's just that Marlee can tell a story, whereas Heather is from the Chicken Soup for the Gay Religious Cat Loving Soul School of Writing!
