I got information in the mail regarding the BTE I complained about months ago. I have the Platinum BTE and BWP processors. My Platinum BTE batteries last about 4-5 hours. They apologized for not keeping us updated on their promise to bring a new BTE that last longer and is better.

I think so far they only improved their T-Coil use and use of FM system, but the battery problem is still a problem. They don't know when the new BTE is coming out, but I wouldn't think it's worth buying a new one if the battery problem is still not resolved. They say that this is their top priority.

They don't explain why they have kept promising and quiet about this problem, which I am obviously not the only frustrated person. I really bet it's because their priority at the time was their newer implants and newer BTE versions for new implantees generations only. That's because after my implant, all of a sudden they boom with a new implant and new BTE's after that, then our generation was rarely mentioned in their site. Now we are mentioned in their website because we still do exist very much as the newer generations.

It's crazy because they also admitted that they have to work on gaining our trust in them again about this. I wish they had told us what took them so long to keep us updated until now.

I don't mean to make Advanced Bionics look bad, but it's truly frustrating that I can't talk about this with anyone else. I like my implant and I like how it helps me. I just want to be updated, and a better BTE that last a whole day at least!

I never thought of it as I had my BWP as back up, but they are coming out with a new technology to allow us to have a back up for our BTE during a power-out. However, I did worry about this being a problem.
