New Bedford parents upset about 2nd grade protests

I don't blame parents for being upset about this b/c they were not asked if OK with them for their kids to leave the school ground.

That's a real head-shaker. :(

"School officials say the protest was completely voluntary" especially this part, the school let the kids decides if was OK to leave the school ground .
What were they thinking by taking people kids out to protest without asking if is was OK . It made you wonder just what kinds of people are caring for our kids in schools these days . I thought you had to get permission from the parents not the kids.

It's nutty. Teachers are getting permission from kids? Unbelievable.

Of course, that fits the same idea that minor students can give consent for sexual relations with their teachers. (Yes, there actually are people who support that.)

I went and watched it more than once. Some of it does seem advanced for 2nd. graders but a number of other things that I read about being part of what kids are expected to learn at what age does too.

One thing I do question is the matter of permission because of location. It seems to me that they did not really leave but were just out in front of their own school. Did you notice this sentence from the article? "One parent, a police officer in town, saw the protesting students in front of the school as he drove by." (Bold and Italic added by me.)

Yeah most likely sex defenders support this. The school was lucky no kids were hurt during the protest , there would had been a lawsuit. I think people are lacking common sense a lot today.
