that is interesting impressive good point advise!

The best solution would be if deaf people became audiologists and ENTs and got into the positions where they could affect parental choice.

I don't know ASL.

Correct me if I am wrong or right on what I think she might be talking about.

Options given to parents with deaf baby like oral, cued speech, hearing aids, CI, etc and keep signing away and hidden by professionals. And trying to point parents to one or more of options they think best instead of giving options to parents and parents to decide themselves. I see there mentioned of mainstream at near end cos ASL sign for mainstream is same as BSL sign.

I just watched the film and I am glad she is so matter-of-fact about it, since I am in agreement with her.
To me it is a no-brainer but it needs to be said over and over.

What she said is what I have seen in my field. These people in this group (audiologists, speech therapists, doctors) claim that they arent biased but yet telling the parents the options (oralsim, cued speech, SEE, TC, implants) that are English based. Nothing about ASL. It is rare rare to see anyone from that group to give ASL an equal footing as English.

Because the people that need to hear it aren't listening.:cool2:
