Need help

I have a brother aged 41 who is deaf. He lost his hearing at age 9 due to spinal meningitis. He does not sign but is an expert lip reader with full oral language skills. He is in the midst of a deep depression and I'm looking for help in identifying resources in the Concord NH or Boston MA area that might be of help to him. Any advice that you can share with me is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Try Cambridge Hospital - Cambridge Hospital There is a signer doctor who grew up HH later become Deaf who works there. Again - Try Wayside Beaverbrook Counseling Center, Or Try Contact the MCDHH - Mass. Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Boston, Ma. for the list of resources in Boston area. You can check it out thru the internet. Good luck! Tell your brother - Hang in there! Is he a member of AD here?
 
Thank you for the information. No, he isn't a member of AD. I'm not sure if he is aware of it. I'll suggest it to him though.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I've been online the last three hours sending emails to different agencies that I've been able to find online. I'll start making phone calls on Monday.

I'm glad you found us here at AD. Great bunch of folks here. I do hope you can find the help that your brother needs. I'll add him to my prayer list. Please stay in touch with us here and let us know how he is doing and if he is interested in chatting with any of us.
