We have a friend in St Joseph Hospital (age 72) that was in a car accident, her husband was killed and she is paralyzed from the neck down. She can't talk yet and is trying to tell us something or ask questions. we are understanding very little. is there some one that can read lips that can help us...Please.

I am sorry to hear. Have you tried asking the hospital about this. They should have someone that could lip-read.

Yes, in fact i spoke with someone at a school today that enlightened me. like most people without hearing problems i thought an experienced lip reader could stand in a room and read every ones lips. i didn't realize it could take several hours just to learn to read one person. i guess i went to to many movies.
thanks for your reply and concerns.

Aww I'm really sorry to hear about your friend and her husband, that's terrible, umm I understand you are having a bit trouble understanding your friend by trying to read her lips am I correct?... Is there a way that you can find someone that could be a bit more helpful?...

It might be hard to find a person who may be a best lip reader but if you have alot of patient, and try to help your friend as much as you can... :dunno:
