I've been SSD-left for 27 years this fall. I still remember what "stereo" sounds like though. There is a New Order song, "The Perfect Kiss" where during the intro, the music bounces from left to right to left, etc. I haven't experienced that sensation since, and don't expect to in my remaining lifetime.
However....
Yesterday I ordered my Phonak Cros system after "testing" it out in the audiology office. I was impressed by what I got to hear during the exam and am keeping my fingers CROSsed(pi), it carries over into real situations when I'm fitted next Tuesday.
My ENT never brought to my attention regarding hearing aids. I learned about the CROS from some fellow vacationers last year on a cruise. I can't wait to get back again and show off my translucent blue Star Trek hearing devices!
