I've been a long time wearer of Bi-Cros hearing aid systems dating back to about 1985 with Telex Analog Cros System 338 which eventually became Phonak Cros 350MCAC with my last pair being from 2003.

Decided to try Phonak's latest Cros system paired with Naida S V. Been wearing now about a week so far and had 1 adjustment appointment which we knocked out all the compression aspects which was helpful to be more like I was used to.

Current symptoms seem to be my voice and other voices sounding still kinda muffled (underwater?) and some harsh sounds (dishes on table, bang ring on table) seem to have a strange "aftersound" that seems compressed? Also snapping my fingers sounds very strange on the aided ear side (very high, not really a "snap") but sounds better if I do it on the Cros aid side.

One strange symptom is that when I whistle at certain pitches and some music on the radio hits that pitch the sounds "flutters" strangely. I saw some mention of that on the forums, but no solution.

I use T Coil on the phone and with MP3 ear hook which is "usuable" but more challenging to understand speech as people sound "tinny" or like treble is too high? and overall gain could be louder. If I turn up the volume on the phone/mp3/aids it becomes more distorted like turning a radio up too loud for the speakers to handle. More buzzing issues too depending on where I am located. Not sure I understand how much configuration can be done on the T-Coil mode and how it relates to the other programs settings...like does it "inherit" the Automatic program settings?

I'm trying to make the jump to digital here since analog seems to be a "dying breed" and I need to be able to have options going forward since eventually the old trusty analogues might die on me. Not sure if anyone else has experience with other Bi-Cros options. I tried Unitron few years ago, but the Cros aid didn't seem to be doing anything. I also read Oticon has some "custom" option to make a Bi-Cros aid as well? Anyone ever pursued that?

I have downloaded the iPFG software from Phonak to understand my options better for tuning to discuss with my audiologist as well. She is using Target 2.1? which seems similar though. Looking for any suggestions/ideas from others for me to talk to my audiologist with the next time I go back. My fear is I run out of "trial" time and go back to the old aid once again. :(

Don't have my audiogram handy to post at the moment (will try later)

there's other Naida users here and I have a friend who uses a Biocros system along with her purple Solanas :)

If you're getting distortion and fluttering you may need the limiter setting raised up (and the compression setting adjusted a bit)... the down side is that the higher the limiter is set the LESS noise reduction you'll have.

Phonak Naida CORE uses iPFG software and
Phonak Naida SPICE (S) uses target software.

You will get an idea tho looking at the older software.
