I've just noticed that my right Naida is scratching the battery Everytime I open and close the battery draw.

Does it mean I need to send it off for repair or is it okay?

Also I use one FM integrated receiver and when I use it for work, my battery drain within a day to a day an a half. Is this normal, without they will last 5 to 7 days.

all of my hearing aids have scratched up the batteries, no matter what. Only exception was when I had the Phonak Claro hearing aid, it had a different battery setup. My Phonak analogs and the Supero have always scratched up the batteries. I still get some minor scratching on the back side of the battery with the Naida
And the FM does use up the battery power more quickly because it needs the power.

Thanks for that. I've only ever had body worn aids or Superfront aids which are totally different.

Something that I found out the other day that might be of interest to you.

I know you are planning to use your classic MLX for your CI and to get a intragtred receiver for your Naidas. There are two types if integrated receivers for the Naida UP. A ML10i which is a dynamic FM which increases speech within noise but can lead to distortion (my problem at the moment) and there is a ML10s which is a classic FM like your MLX. Thought I would let you know just incase the ML10s balances better with your MLX. :)

The contact with the battery should be clean and flush otherwise it can cause an arch. If the batter is getting discolored then perhaps the contact isn't good. I've had battery contacts that do scratch, but have not seen battery loss. If you are losing 5 days of use then there is definitely a problem. Take it to the audi.

I used to get 10 days when I first got the Naidas but then I had bass boost to the max which gave me more clairty of speech but the battery life went to roughly 5 days straight after the bass boost was put to the max. Ever since I have always got 5 days give or take.

Now ive started using the fm, they are lasting much less. Phonak state 40% more drain on one part of their website but today I read on another part of their website that battery drain would more then double so day and a half to two days would be right, I believe. I can go to two days on the fm but personally I find the voulme goes really low after about a day to a day and a half to the point I really cant hear it.

I use smart link wired(not blue tooth)with the A+ aid. I don't notice that big a draw with FM so it is probably the aid design due to feature that make the Nadia drain. I'd say I get 5 - to 8 days using duracell batteries.

If you are using smartlink+, bluetooth might be using up the power.

when I first tried out the Naida V years ago, I used my MLx receiver with it I think... I was looking at getting the ML10i for my Naida IX. Didn't realize there was a distortion issue. If I encounter that problem, I'll just bug my audie about it. :)

My Audi said the ML10i is the dynamic which is better in noise as it raises speech by 16db above noise which can lead to distortion unless you lower gain and MPO which in my case means I can't hear it. Not everyone gets the problem, but it's very annoying if you do. I never realised there was a ML10s one :)

yep, Phonak is up to ML16i haha. there's a bunch of different receivers for different CI's and hearing aids!

lol, I know theirs many different types of FM but hadn't realised their were 2 different integrated receivers for the Naida UPs.

Any metal rubbing againsg metal will cause scratches. I guess that's a way of knowing that you're getting a good connection between the hearing aid and the batteries.

good point, I'll keep that in mind since I have the 600 P that can be a pain in the butt when it comes to batteries! *I had batteries falling out and on the floor where I can't see a thing due to my nearsightness.*

Maybe the scathing has always happen, just never notice it before.
