I'm on my sidekick and can't view the video clip. So I'm not support or against that bill, so I ask you something.

How could you are so sure all doctors will give parents complete unbasied information for options? How do you know the bill is so prefect?

Well, I really hope it turn out so helpful and have friendly choices for all hearing parents with hoh and/or deaf children. But what about deaf/hoh parents with deaf and/or hoh kids?? It seems the bill don't say about them at all to me. Unless I may overlook it...

So I dunno. I'll view it when I visit library or my friend's.

The bill doesn't say anything about doctors.

OK, whosever will give the informative options to those hearing parents. I'll view your video clip later, anyway.

That's the point of the bill, to force them to give unbiased information.

I thought in order to be considered a doctor you need to have a PHD. Maybe I am wrong.

Audiologists are doctors. If they have "Au. D." or "AuD" as part of their title, they hold a Doctorate in Audiology. If they don't, they are not audiologists.

Yeah, well, as long as people do not attach any more importance to the audie beyond his/her revealing the level of hearing loss.

If that is their only role in the process, why lay this HUGE responsibility on them?

Here's my question....those who are against the bill, do you have a good way to get unbiased information to parents? How do we fix thios bill?

The question applies to everyone, not to just those who oppose this bill. The issue of oversight apparently hasn't been addressed.

Nope. A Ph.D., an AuD., a PsyD, and MD, a DDS or a DMD...all doctors. Just a difference in the field that the doctorate was awarded in.

Agreed. Unfortunately, they often step beyond their scope of practice. In my experience, anyway.
