:pissed: So...I got my puppy a couple months ago and all. Shes like 4 months old now???? Anyway she's in the chewing on EVERYTHING phase......and one day I was taking a nap on my couch and one of my hearing aids fell out......I woke up to find it in a hundred pieces on the floor! Damn, I don't think I've ever been more pissed....I just got these new aids a few months ago. Luckily my audi told me they will replace it but with a 250$ deductable.

Anybody else ever lose a hearing aid to a pet???

Well, I came close to losing my HA to my sister's cat once. I saw her carrying it in her mouth years ago. Of course, I grabbed the cat and got my HA back.

None happens my hearing aid but My dogs did chewed with few tv, dvd, vcr or other remotes GRRR :)

Nope not to a pet but to a 4 year old daughter. She put my HAs in the washing machine and when I went to retrieve the clothes from the washer, I found pieces of my HA stuck on my clothes. I asked her why did she do that and she said "Mommy..u said your HAs are dirty and now they are clean." Oh boy..no HAs for the next 4 years after that. It sucked!

So your daughter thought she could help you by cleaning it but you didnt explain how to clean it. Awwwwwww poor sweet your daughter.

As for your pet who tends to chew on anything included HA. My suggestion put your HA up on out of reach. That what I did when I first got my dog and fin dout that she doesnt chew on anything which is a good thing. The only thing she will chew on is a toy or food. Boy what a good dog I got. :D

I told her thank you and that it was not how to clean it. Didnt get mad at her cuz she didnt know any better. LOL! I thought it was funny but it did suck not having HAs for 4 years after that.

This one has got to be a classical. This is the best post I have ever seen and no, I never lost my hearing aid to my dog. This still is a very good classical post. :) :thumb:

yep 2 times...

one dog choclate ate my first hearing aid, then 2nd time lilo ate EvERYTHING and i was like AUGHHHHHHHHHh but i knew I MADE the mistake cuz my hearing aid was on the low table and she somehow got into it turns out the hearing aid was switched on somehow, and she didn't like it she was attacking it when i woke up i was like what are u doing! and then saw my bte was all destroyed and she was attacking my earmold cuz she didn't like the smell of it so i sighed and yelled NO to her and cleaned up my mess and went straight to the hearing aid center got a loaner til my new one came in, and that was a 6 weeks when it should have been 6 months they rushed it for me so i can get on with my life! so learned my lesson andk ept my hearing aid on either top shelf, desk or amoire.

when we brought kiko home i introduced him to my hearing aid and make sure he understood NO to eating my hearing aid. So since then he just looks at it when i put it on and leaves me alone :)

Lol, I did that to my own HA once when I was 13. I forgot to check my pockets before washing clothes. I had just gotten it a month ago too.

once...

i left my hearing aids on the fireplace while i was sleeping on the floor at my father's house. i woke up knowing it wasn't there anymore. I looked and looked everywhere. My step mother found it and gave me a guilty look. she said her dog chewed it up. my dad had to buy me a new one. that was when i was about 12 years old.

This is why it is often suggested that you keep your HAs or CIs in a hard shelled container when not in use. I keep my CIs in a gray hard shelled container that was provided by Cochlear, since I have 3 cats and I know they will play with everything and would play with the coil pieces of my CIs.

I'm usually good at putting them in my case, but this just happened to be one of those times I unintentionally fell asleep with my HA's in.

yeah once when I was sleepover at my uncle's that I sleep on couch not comfortable anyway I put my hearing aid on the coffee cable behind the couch on the side. Then later I woke up and saw there is no hearing aid then I looking for it my aunt and uncle helped me to looking for my hearing aid till found it and it already chewed that my uncle's dog :( cant use it then later got new one and I put higher no more dog chew it.

My mom had dog that been chew the tv remote it look bad but still work so my mom and my sisters put tv remote higher on the tv stand so the dog cant chew it :).

yep my Clyde chewed my hearing aid once. But now with my CI's I got it in the hard shelled case and locked inside my lock box. LOL Making double sure he cant get to them. But suggestion watch those batteries too! Lol

A friend of mine who used to work at the motel and there was a fire in the room. So he helped by putting it out. Guess what!!! One of his HA got burned. :giggle: I laughed. So he got 2 HA but now 1 HA.

Oh remind me it was funny when I was 6 yrs old that I didnt reazlied that I put my 2 hearing aids in old fashion suitcase then later I couldnt find my hearing aids for long time so my mom and I gave it up and get new hearing aids then about :-S ummmmm around 10 to 13 yrs old cant remember I saw there old fashion suitcase so I gonna open it and FOUND my hearing aids in there  damn! it been there for 4 to7 yrs laters oh man!
