Nobody I know reloads .223.
Whenever I shot at the indoor range, I could use FMJ. Now they allow lead tipped only. When you are outdoors, try the orange shooting balls or even a plastic milk container with cap. If you fill the container with water and shoot it, makes impressive sprays. When it is empty, keep firing at it and you can keep it twirling and suspended in the air.
