DeafDude - there's a difference between hearing the high frequencies and whether it's too LOUD. Mine was too loud, so I had them lowered. I can still hear the high frequencies, but they're not as loud and I'm not as sensitive. There's a difference.
Deafteen90 - def go for a new map. I'm surprised that you don't have different programs on your processor for different situations.
Regardless - you may want to consider asking your Audiologist to do a NRT on you. It can determine which electrodes are functioning just fine, and which are overly sensitive. It's not a pleasant test. I had it done, and because of that one stupid electrode was overly sensitive on my nerve, so I had that turned off...since then, thing sounded much better.
Second test is to have a full beeping test. The audiologist should go through each electrode and do some sort of "comfort, threshold" type of levels. A couple of your electrodes may be getting a little wonky and may need to be lowered just a tad. I had that done too, and since then the high frequencies are not as loud.
Every time you feel something weird with your processors or map, ALWAYS go for a reMAP. It doesn't matter how long you've had it...what matters is what you want to hear, and what you don't want to hear. I've had about 30 different maps on my left (4 programs on one processor, so that's a lot of maps within a year, and I *still* need to go back)
Wish you best of luck!
