To make it official, the trailer was leaked onto the trailer. It was planned to be released onto the Internet after Looney Tunes: Back in Action has been released.

The leaked trailer came from the Warner Bros website itself. They had it on the website the whole time, but they didn't officially announce it at that time. They were hiding it, but somebody managed to find it.

Not even hacking was needed.

The best part is, all the person did was change HP2 to HP3 and it worked.

“Basically, all I did was change HP2 to HP3 ... and it worked. It was too easy,” he said. “If they really wanted to keep it from people, they wouldn’t have made it that easy.”

There, that's the whole story on how it happened. Warner Bros acted quickly and took the webpage off the net but it was pretty much too late. A lot of viewers already had copied the trailer and some of them put the preview on their own websites.

:)

Warner Bros clearly must had thought the plan was foolproof.

Hmm... this movie looks interesting. It doesn't reveal much and has a lot of mystery to it. We've got a long way to go before actually being able to see the movie! Unless WarnerBros screw up again and hide the whole movie on the web for us to download from, then we're lucky! Hehehe!

If that ever happened, Warner Bros will soil their pants. :)

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the movie got leaked onto the internet by an insider.

Remember The Hulk?

The workprint version got leaked 2 weeks prior to the nationwide release. I'll bet that it made a dent at the box office for The Hulk. I meant, a lot of people are bound to have viewed it during these two weeks.

Spider-Man got leaked onto the Internet a bit early but no damages was done. You can see that.

Most pirated movies that get released before or a bit after the release are mostly insiders from the movie studios.

I think I did see somewhere else in here that it DID get leaked out -- someone found it hidden at WB's site, only WB wasn't telling anyone about it. ;)
BTW, I think it looks great! Can't wait until June 2004 when it gets released for real!

DAYUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm I d sure like to see that! but ofc i won t spoil myself i rather see it in action thank u very much! :) hehehe

Hehe, I'd so much rather see it at the movies.... June 2004 officially? I MUST see it but I'm not gonna get it off the net, I want to see it subtitled at the cinema for the first time.

Me too, I prefer watching movies on the big screen.

After all, it'll always be the theatre that provide us the best quality possible in comparison to a pirated copy via net.

What about DVD quality? I'll bet that's better than the cinema quality.

Actually, if you blow it up to the size of a theatre. It won't be.

The thing is, most of the movies today are still printed film, not digital. Pixels can become very noticeable if they were blown up. For example, Star Wars Episode II, it was digitally shot. During the night scenes, it looked very grainy to me because it was being shown at such a large size.

But since it was printed directly onto film because most theatres run on film projectors, not digital. I imagine the true digital projector would be able to show a really superior quality in comparison to the film quality.

Plus, the DVD movies are still HEAVILY compressed. Imagine the quality if it was perfect quality.

A good 2 hours film would take up 150 GB alone and a DVD is only able to take in from 4.7 to 9.4 GB depending on what technology they use.

That's why you see a lot of movies with grainy look to it. You can even notice the pixels sometimes. Here's a good example, Friends TV series... if you view them on DVDs.

They may not be noticeable at first but when you look up close, you can see the pixels. They have to do a lot of compression.

What about superbit DVDs? They are designed to have no extras so they can make the DVD quality better by using up more space on the DVD.

A 2 hours film without any compression would take up around 150GB while a single layer DVD can only take in 4.7GB or a dual layered DVD can only take in 9.4GB.

Superbit DVDs, they still have to compress it. The thing is, these DVDs are not being displayed onto the theatre screens.

If you did, you will see a difference.
