You wouldn’t expect a rabbit to take on a snake and live to tell the tale - but then you haven’t messed with an angry mother bunny before.

These incredible scenes, filmed in the cameraman’s back garden, show the black snake wrapped around a baby rabbit, preparing it for its afternoon meal.

But springing in from out of nowhere comes the baby bunny’s mum, who sinks her teeth into the slithering reptile.

The baby bunny is released from the tight clasp of the snake and runs off, managing to avoid being lunch.

Its mother is furious, however, and refuses to leave the snake alone.

you don't mess around with them little suckers my rabbit broke cats jaw I thank rabbit I don't get stray cats crapping in garden...down side rabbit humps everyone even watering can everything fair game for humping even seen it humping my cat poor little cat that big surprise for him
 
Rabbits cant defend themselves against dogs. all they can do its hop away from them real fast

Rabbits can be vicious little butts when threatened.... and their claws are incredibly sharp... not only are they really fast but agile too....it does not surprise me that this mama went after the snake...
 
And Rabbits can ruin a dog race. WTF?

I'm somewhat surprised at the rabbit for going after the snake to that degree but if that is mother rabbit, I can see it....have also heard the wild male rabbits can be fighters too.

As far as dogs - yeah, we've had many rabbits in yards and the dogs go after them, the rabbits just run then, try to get back through the fence...my Labrador would catch and kill them. He also attacked a raccoon, taking it down from the fence-top.

raccoons can also be loud, aggressive, destructive and bold; not always sweet.
not that this means I dislike raccoons or wanted my dog to kill them, but they aren't always sweet.
