That's horrible way to die. I feel bad for his wife too.
I do too , to think her mother stone killed her husband . I thought is was part of caretaker job to made sure the gravestones were in good shape so something this would not happen.
Sometimes "cleaning" the stones is more destructive than leaving them alone. It's a good idea to research that before attempting to clean it.This is a lesson for everyone to heed when it comes to bigger stones.
I just went to a gravesite recently in cold weather and there was moss growing in the etched part of tombstone of family member, it's a huge place but me and dad will return in summer and brush it off.
I wondered what caretakers job description was when I saw the state of it.
