BRUSSELS – The five-month-old baby found dead in a car in the town of Halle in Vlaams-Brabant at about 4 pm on Thursday had been forgotten by his mother.

The public prosecution department in Brussels has announced that he probably died of overheating.

The mother had brought her two elder children to school on Thursday morning and went immediately to her work in Halle, forgetting to drop off her 5-month-old son at his babysitter.

At 4 pm the woman went to the babysitter to pick up the child, whom she thought she had dropped off. The child was found dead in his car seat in the back of the car.

The woman has not been arrested at the moment, though she may be charged with criminal negligence. An autopsy should shed more light on the baby's cause of death.
 
How the fuck could she have overlooked a thing like that!? Jeez!

How the woman forget five-month-old baby dead in a car while she left the car to work? Nobody arrest her for the severe criminal negligence she made. That's strange ODD!

Well it happens. It depends on the situation with the parents, sometimes they are very stress and forget about the baby.

When my mom was babysitting my cousin's daughter, my mom and I have to go to autoshop to pick my car up, my cousin's daughter was in my mom's car. I went out of the car and my mom got out as well and I continue walked and notice my cousin's daughter wasn't with us, I asked my mom "Do you notice she is still in the car?". My mom was like "Oh my god!" and she ran to the car and open the car and telling my cousin's daughter "I am very sorry to leave you in the car, I am so sorry" blah blah blah. Then she told me to not tell my cousin, so I kept it as secretly.

I believe the action of "forgot" is very natural. It's just depends on what happen in people's mind. Yeah it would be very shameful when parents forgot about their children...
 
It's tragedy to see the baby die in the car due to overheatin'. He don't deserve to die like this - he is only 5 months old. :(

If, the mother forgot her child in the car, how does it fit her for " criminal negligence " ? I am sure the mother was distraught when she discovered her child was dead.

This news is from Belgium and crime system is probably different from USA.

If in USA then she will be in prison for long term or life.
 
She's probably more worried about how to get the barbequed baby scent out of her car.
