What's the most tactless thing you ever said to someone?

:iough:
:ugh:
:tears:

I admitted that I couldnt believe that I said that to someone this AM. I dont say that but open my mouth too fast without thinking twice. I really wish I could said something so clever but oops.

It does haunts me for so long.

Ohh my bad.. actually I feel a PLAIN idiot and WISH i never said that. What am i thinking??????

Well, my co worker had a thinner hair for years. ( actually, i thought she did complain about it but i may be wrong). One day, "over the weekend", She got a nice hairstyle four months ago. Until this am,I have no common sense, seriously. I thought she did tell others about a wig. Somehow, i brought up, we talked about hairstyle, then i asked, where did you go to the specialist place for getting more hair.. She got upset, and told me that she didnt appreciate what I said that. She said she changed her hairstyle and used the hot iron to make her look different. I was choked, and said sorry to her. I felt bad.

ewwwwwww painful..worse I did thought I was talking to what I thought was woman, subject got around to menstral problems I asked if on hrt and when her menopause started it was a man...I wished earth opened I avoid that person when see them...over two years thought he woman

Worst I remember when meeting the wife of a casual acquaintance, asking when their baby was due.

Turned out she had kidney problems, not pregnant, and couldn't have children.

I felt bad still 20 years after.

I did that too! I was mortified.

:( I ll rememebr what you all shared your experiences. It helps me to be aware and i ll be more careful for not saying THAT whatever it happens in the future.

Once I confused a woman for a man (this person Has the impression of acting either way), so "he" was concerned about some weight gain and asked me if having trouble putting on a pair of jeans meant they were getting fat. I told "him" "Dude lay off the pork and beer!" Then I suddenly hear a more feminine voice exclaim "WHAT? I'm a girl!"

Now that's just...

Sometimes it's easy to make an assumption, especially when something seems visually obvious until we learn otherwise. Don't beat yourself up too much over it. :)
