I remember dating a deaf person few years ago. I asked her if she would get a car with turbocharged engine. She told me no. Her Dad will look under hood and throw fit if he saw it was turbocharged. It's fair. Not everyone needs Dad to see under hood. If a person wants a turbo engine, they should go for it.

I get what your saying Derek, however it does all depend on the age of the girl in question. I mean once you turn 18 and as long as you are paying for the car (& its upkeep) then yeah totally go for it, you shouldn't be too worried about what your parents are going to think....I mean we live in a society now, were the proverbial "Umbilical Cord" stays completely or partially attached nearly the entire life span of the child, even after the child has become an adult and is on their own. I am currently dealing a with a situation of that nature, where my family doesn't want to "cut the cord" and let me be me, even though I am 26 years old and a mother of 1 daughter. I mean seriously, they still talk to me and treat me like I'm some teenager who they can tell what, when, where, how to do something and even sometimes who to do or not do it with. That is why my BFF and I are looking for our own place. I've been living with my grandmother and taking care of her(she has Multiple Myeloma), but now I've decided that I have to put my daughter first and let my mom, aunts and uncles step up(after all they are her kids, and so far I'm the only grand-kid out of 10 to step up and put my life on hold for the past 3 years)!! TTYL

*I'm done with my rant, sorry, to lay it all out there but I just don't have any other outlet!!!! :) ;) :P
