Mommy or/and Daddy?

Ha I was getting your attention. :cool2: I bet some of you who are parents having hard times on making decisions where to send your babies off to somewhere else when schools have their summer break. So,
I can understand that sometimes summer breaks may be hard on some parents due to many reasons. I know some of us still have to make plans for children's summer break.
I thought this thread might help some of us as parents to learn something worth it from each other that we probably never thought of.

so, what are you planning for your kiddos to do something during summer time for about 10 weeks? :fruit:

Great topic! I have a 6 months old baby and a 6 year old child. Daddy is working full-time so it's all up to me to decide what to do. Most of the time I want my oldest to keep up with her reading, say an hour every day. Then play time and get a children-size pool for my back yard.

I was very pregnant last summer and I could not take my oldest to anywhere. I felt so, so bad. I want to make it up to her. I definitely want to take my oldest to the Museums, zoos, parks, and farms for fruit pickings, etc. I'm sure there's more to do. :hmm:

I look for free events to go to during the summer. It helps that I live near two major cities, beaches, and bay beaches. A lot to do around here in the summer.

I did reserve the summer camp for my girls. I will take them to the zoo, camping with my travel trailer, two nights rental house nearby the beach and others! :P

We have some plans for this summer....

Hubby work full time, and I am stay home mom/babysitter.

Tyler will go to camping at Camp Mark 7....we are quite excited for him! :) He will have fun!

We will go to OBX again since we already planned it and reserved house. :) Other than that I guess he go grandparent like every year. He loves it.

We will probably keep ourselves busy with going to museums, maybe zoo, swimming, go lake....so wait and see how the weather will cooperate with us this year.

Of course I will babysit for friend probably full time but not 100% sure yet. :) We'll have fun play together.

My boys signed up for baseball, and they also organize football games in the neighborhood almost all year around (on Saturdays). We go to the beach, zoo, take a mini vacation like St. Augustine, which isn't very far from where I live.

They also have the library, plan sleepovers, and my 13 yr. old took up golf last year, he likes it. The Water Park, and many more activities....video games, Wifi....even look for part-time jobs, mowing lawns, etc.

There are tennis courts also....As for camps, I really don't trust them! And would rather keep my boys close at home.

There are a lot of places you can send your kids off to.

There's church camp, regular camp, computer camp, whatever there is out there.

I went to a lot of church camps. I went to day camp as a kid. I rode the bus to camp every morning and then back at the end of the day. When I was older (pre-teen), I went to a different camp and stayed there the whole week in cabins. This was at an actual campgrounds. When I was much older (9th grade to 11th grade), I went to a different camp and stayed there the whole week. This time, it was at different colleges. We stayed in the dorms instead of cabins. :)

There was also a time when I went to computer camp. This was at Texas School for the Deaf.

Awesome! I heard about the mark 7 camp is great for koda. My girl isn't ready to seperate from us so i give her one more year then i will encourage her to go to mark 7 for the two weeks or so.

Everyone have many great ideas for kids summer plans. I agree that we all need to make the plans for kids for the next few months. I am glad that We finished the plan for kids' summer break. So, We will send kids to art day camp and regular day camps at YMCA. They have offered lake for kids to swim that the bus will bring the kids to the lake for 5 weeks. Unfortunately, they are not that cheap but we feel kids to experience on their own in their paths. I know there are some good programs that offers anyone who have low income resournce to send kids places on their summer break. I think it's great for any kids to go to those day camp or camp places. The other 5 weeks, grandparents will watch and do something fun with kids one or two times a week while some other days, my hubby and I will take our turns to take our day off from works to be with kids. So Each of us, as to what I will see whatever I can do something for kids to keep them busy for some days during summer break. :) Lastly, We will be camping for couple of times in the entire summer.

Mine will be doing school all summer since I homeschool, but we will be going to the Japanese gardens, the zoo, science museum and the beach as well. A friend at church is also planning on having my daughter come out 2 days a week to horseback riding lessons, free of charge. The only payment is, she has to learn to clean and care for the horse afterwards. Last summer we moved back to Florida and most time was spent cleaning out things since father-in-law had just died. This summer will be their official first fun summer in Florida and even with doing schoolwork, they will have fun.

I plan short lessons for my younger son. He loves social studies and I tie in other subjects. Just enough to keep him engaged and interested.
