There is no punishment in the world that can be worst than the parents losing their baby b/c of their carelessness and laziness . They should never had a loaded gun out in the open with four small boys . They'll live with this the rest of their life . RIP sweet baby .

I understand the baby was gone and the mother is heartbroken. What happens next? It's still under investigation, even though it appears accidental. In other words, it would not happen if the gun was kept out of reach of children and locked. When will an incident like this stop? That's sad that some gun owners don't think twice.

The boy was only 5 yo so it would very easy to had put the gun out reach of the kids. Yeah , I guess this will stop happening when parents practice gun safety in their homes. The kids need to be told never to touch the gun if they know it in the house. This is still under investigation

So sad! This just goes on and on, I don't ever see a stop to the parent's carelessness!!! :pissed:

As long as people don't properly store their guns it will keep happening time and again. I think there have been three kids killed by their parents guns since the first of the year.

And that is totally unacceptable and no needs to had happen ! We grew up with two rifles in our house and my neighbor had a gun too and he had 3 kids all 7 kids were never allowed nears the guns. Are people being born with smaller brains today??

Curiousity killed the cat as a way of saying the person especially a child is curious about the gun and thinking that it is like a toy. 5 year old child does not know from fantasy to reality of knowing that he was not suppose to touch or pick up the real gun. It is really the parents' fault to leave the gun out in the open where any family member can spot it. Yes, the gun should be lock up (make sure the parent keep the key with him or her) and put it away like high up in the clothes closet or in a safe.

It is a tragedy that this happen in the most wrong place and time to do this to his baby brother. My condolence to the 5 years old and his family. :(
