At some other forums such as boards.ie (an irish site-portal) , there is a delete option for your posts. If you wish to delete your post then you click on Edit button then you get a delete button option and may delete your post.

I would like to see an option like this if possible.

What is your opinion ?

I think we had that option before, but members were abusing it.

They would make a post that violated forum rules, then they would delete it to cover their tracks.

For instance, I could call you names and flame you because there's no moderator online. Then, after everyone starts bitching at me... I delete my post and then deny it when a moderator comes online to check me out.

Interesting  I didn't think about the issue you mention . The Irish site has 96000+ members and has 'delete' button.. I only thought that 'delete' button would be more easy for me instead of asking a mod to delete my post :dunno2:

Like Vampyrox said, the delete option was disabled due to members abusing the feature in the past.

OK how about leaving 'edit' button on permanently after you post? Sometime you read your post and realized that you make mistake or say something idioitic. You shld be allowed to go back and edit your post. That what I want to see. Plus if some one is trying to hide something, there would be small note under your post indicated that you did edit.

Same problem.

Members would say something bad, then edit it right away.

For instance, I know you're online and reading this thread. So, I say... "Hey, you prick! Blow me!" After you get mad, I then edit it. No one can prove I said it. ;)

Same reason applied what Vampy says, a member can edit his/her post and change his/her post if he/she broke the rule of AD.

I like the way it is now. ;)

Damn Vampy you beat me to the punch. :giggle: I'm slow!!

Too slow.

Better catch up... I see the snail passing by. ;)

Really? A lot of members saying nasty stuff to each other or what?

I'm sure some of members are still here and can refresh their memory on it but since it's in the past so it's past. I was being sarcastic anyway :fart:

So was I. :giggle:

True but I thought we can conceal our online status ? Simple if someone s insult or hurt ur feel , then report it to mods . yes offender can lie and cover up but when it s being reptitive. This shld raise a red flag. It ain't that hard to spot the offender, isn't it?

If what I actually made mistake to twice click on post and become double posted, so I can click delete instead stuck with double post...

Well, you still have a short time to edit your post to say something else... or to say "double post". :thumb:
