Metrosexual is someone who's straight that looks gay but not, some girls like straight guy who's metrosexual.

Rugged is someone who looks macho and rough.

I'm neither... just average and laid back.

I think that women liking metrosexuals is just a fantasy and not something they will really follow through with. :dunno:

Me too, I'm tired of looking neat all the times. I'd rather look just casual. I hate shaving mustache and chin. (never beard cuz I don't have much hair). it grows back 2 days. UGH!.

Some of my friends (girls) like metrosexual because they like super clean cut and good clothes. (Well, superficial).

Mine grows slowly... takes over a week to grow a noticeable beard. I just shave it every few days and leave a goatee. :)

As for clothes, it's usually shorts and polo shirts or T-shirts. :)

It wouldn't matter to me if the guy is metrosexual or rugged. If they know how to keep theirselves clean at a point, then it would be fine for me. Personally, I wouldn't want a guy who is dressed up as a "bum" and looks horrendous. I realize that looks doesn't matter but appearance does count in a sense, though.

After all, the first impressions is what makes it last.

Sometimes Hubby has to shave twice a day. In the past, he had a mustache and sometimes a beard but now he is clean-shaven because his facial hair has too much gray. He used to like having a mustache when he was young because he was kind of "baby-faced" and wanted to look older. Now he doesn't need to look older.

I like shorts and t-shirt that's comfortable. :)

Goatee-Cool but it doesn't look right on me becuz I have boyish looking. Goatee more for manly face.

Have you experimented with your face?

It took me a long time before I started growing facial hair. Even today, I can't grow a thick beard like most people. I do have a few friends at RIT who grow extremely thick beards in less than a week. That's because their bodies are made that way.

I started out with just a mustache. Later on, I started growing a goatee to make it look better. I did try a beard, but the best appearance was if I had it like a thin jaw-like beard with nothing above and below (on my neck). I've done that a few times.

People say that when I don't have a beard, I look very young. I guess that's part of the reason why I grow my goatee. ;)

Yep. A neat and clean appearance show respect for self. If a guy doesn't respect himself enough to take a shower and brush his teeth, then he's not going to have much respect for any woman he's with, either.

I tried to google to see what metrosexual and rugged people looked like.

I don't allow facial hair (beard, mustache and sideburns) on my face - I do leave my face unshaven up to three or four days. I absolutely hate having to shave when I know it is going to hurt some!

I did expermenting on my face before. beard and goatee doesn't look right on me, you know I have boyish look. I don't have dense hair on my face. I have normal thin hair on mustache and chin down my neck. I have to shave careful where I don't want to get beard. If I did then it will grow new hair, if u know what I mean. My old best friend who told me not to shave it all. He did shaved it all and he got a beard, he told me that he hate shave every morning because his hair so thick and he's sicked of it. I decide not to get beard. I want people to guess my age. Some of them thought I looked 25 (I'm 34) and I'm also short, that's why.

Goatee look sexy to me but it doesn't look right on me.

Hmm, you can look up website called planetout.com (to let u know it's a gay website but not porno).

metrosexual look clean cut neat looking and stylish. (that's superficial) If a straight guy dress too perfect and face look too perfect, he can be mistaken for look gay. But to some girls who like metrosexual.

(like example for "queer eye for the straight guy")

rugged looks rough and sloppy casual clothes like wrangler jean and red flannel shirt. (like TV commerical for paper towel "Brawny").

Some gay guys with rugged looks, it's hard to tell and straight acting. (like movie with actor heath ledger "cold mountain")

Brian, me too, I leave it for 4 days. When I go to school or work or go out with friends then I shave it. I don't like look funny on me with unshaven. I look like a sloppy.

That's a myth... that shaving encourages more hair growth.

I shave a lot and I don't even grow that much hair. My friends in Rochester who have thick beards. They started growing in high school and they don't shave often. ;)

Have you gotten opinions from your friends?

Frequent shaving does not make hairs grow faster or thicker. All hair growth is below the skin surface. By the time a hair is visible, that part is dead.

Sometimes hair seems thicker because shaving makes the individual hairs blunt ends instead of the natural tapered ends of an uncut hair. That's why people who want a smoother finish will use wax or chemicals because those methods also pull out the root. Then, the new hairs grow back with the tapered, softer looking appearance.

*5* ,,,, if a guy dress up like a bum then I would say a guy would be a hazard waste! Yike! But as long they can keep clean that good enough for me. :giggle:

Yes, like my sweet friend andd others, they think clean shaven better on me than mustache and chin and they don't think goatee looks good on me. That's their opinions.

Since Hubby has become clean shaven, he no longer bugs me every time we eat dinner with, "is there anything in my mustache/beard"?

That's another benefit of being clean shaven. You don't need to floss your beard/mustache after each meal.

Yes, I noticed as that happened to me too. I looked more young if I don't have a beard. I still have the beard though. :)
