Konami has announced that the official title for the GameCube Metal Gear game is Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and that it's currently in development at Silicon Knights, the development team behind Eternal Darkness. The game will feature revamped Metal Gear Solid 2 quality graphics and gameplay mechanics, but it will contain the original Metal Gear Solid storyline. Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes is being developed under the supervision of Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto.

“I am tremendously excited to introduce a unique Metal Gear Solid experience to a new audience of gamers as well as collaborate with my mentor in game design, Mr. Miyamoto, on Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes for Nintendo GameCube,” says Hideo Kojima, vice president, Konami Computer Entertainment Japan, Inc.

“Mr. Kojima and I have spoken about this project for some time, and I’m excited our ideas have matched so perfectly,” adds Shigeru Miyamoto, senior managing director of Entertainment Analysis and Development Division, Nintendo Co., Ltd. “It’s this shared passion for game creation that has allowed us to collaborate to bring a special Metal Gear project exclusively for Nintendo GameCube.”

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is scheduled for release later this year in North America, but it will be on display at E3.

Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
Metal gear for Nes and MSx versions were good... I cant wait to see play it on gamecube version...

okay let me get this straight...it will have an orginal story line from the very first MG that was released on nes in 1987 and will be improved with superb graphics, weapons, and characters...? i dunno... "twin snakes" sound kind of weird and i thought you were talking about liquid snake since he is a "clone" of Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid on PSX. lol oh well, can't wait to get in Snake's coolest adventures again!

Just make a simple for you and everyone, its a remake of metal gear but at this time for gamecube version, that game will be a superb graphics, and weapons, ect. But for charactors, I dont think so just solid snake is a a main charactor. Answering your question,
what they mean is son, rookie solid snake fights his father, the legendary Snake.. they are twin because according to metal gear solid, solid's twin brother, liquid told him that they are clones and got DNA by their father. the legendary snake decided to have some clone brothers and sisters to make an ultimate powerful and intelligent soldiers by his DNA. Solid snake is not as good as thier brothers and sisters. that's why ( I am not sure how did he get training under F.O.X. program to become a solider and stop metal gear and his father, legendary snake. Steel, you remember who is the best clone solider? that's Liguid snake, who was not easily giving up without a fight. he almost died at least 4 or 5 times. ;) ;)

Perfect, now I know this game is being developed right in my city!

4 or 5 time?? well at least Reslover got his arm and the arm took over his body! geez...it's just an ARM! lol

wwwwwwwwwwwhat? a remake of Metal Gear Solid over the PSX version? but i already have that game! (even though i beat it)

well i guess you are right... this is what i read: "Twin Snakes, more or less a total remake of the PS1 game Metal Gear Solid, has been under development by SK for a considerable amount of time, and the company has worked hard to up the graphics presentation of the title so that it more closely resembles the recently released next-generation Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. In fact, it's said to look even prettier. The title will ship later this year in the US and Europe and early 2004 in Japan."

So, it's kinda pointless to play a game which is that you already played the orginal, but the remake...? naw I'll pass it. I want to play NEW and NEVER MADE BEFORE Metal Gear series... *sigh* when will it ever come out?

Here are some images on MGS: twin snakes... (I take it IS the remake of the orginal MGS on Playstation)

(Please excuse the dark images...GameSpot did it terrible...or perhas E3 though)

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes is expected to hit the GameCube this november.

If they ever make a live action movie and if they include Rayen in it, Kevin Bacon might be a good choice for him since his face is sort of similar to Kevin Bacon...well sort of. lol

Yea Kevin Bacon is a cranky kind of guy. Probably too cheery to be Raiden. He laughs too much unlike this Raiden character who seems nervous as it being his first mission after VR trainings.
