I've rented Splinter Cell for Xbox and in my own opinon, i think that is one of the best looking games and a good story line to be made on Xbox for the first time (now it's on PS2, GC, and PC)
Splinter Cell is just darker, has more missions, and some cooler weapons than MGS does...even longer than MGS.
Metal Gear Solid and MGS2 are really great games, but most ppl complained that they aren't long enough and should carry out more missions and weapons and all that...blah blah blah such a bunch of whiners...i think MGS2 is just the longest game I've ever played for two months and i think that is long enough, for sure.
Solid Snake has a quite and mysteryous personality, even though he may be a prick sometimes, but he's cool, strong and has full of guts to take whatever it takes to complete his mission.
Same goes for Sam Fisher, (Fisher just sounds kind of stupid, if you ask me) There is no known history about him or his life, but is a top secret spy while Solid Snake is a legendary soilder from an oragzanation called FOX HOUND or whatever that is...but left FOX HOUND when Liquid Snake died and went on his own to finish Resolver, but didn't get a chance to bust him yet.
Sam Fisher's sent on a mission to stop and destory the top secret terrorism organation who been kipnapping CIAs and other government agents in an forgien country. Sam Fisher has more moves than Solid Snake does. He can wall kick from wall to wall, stand in between upon the height of an enemy where he can't spot Fisher above! Fisher has his night vision goggles on at all times when he is located in very dark places...can climb on pipes and poles. can slide down on ropes or cables. can grab and choke an enemy and threat the other enemy to do what Fisher ordered his enemies to do while pointing his gun to his enemy's head. Fisher has better targetting at shooting than Snake does.
MGS 2 is really a great game, but Snake doesn't have alot of moves like Fisher does. Sure Snake can hold onto bars, slide onto catwalks, can throw his fists and kicks and shoot, but that's not really alot he could do anyway.
So which is better? Metal Gear Solid (or 2) or Splinter Cell?
In my opinon, i am not going to be in between. I can take those equally. Metal Gear Solid 2 and Splinter Cell are one of the coolest spy games I could ever play for the rest of the summer.
