One sign that doesn't mean he know ASL.
BTW silly video! :)

One time cashier say "hi, I know ASL a little" then I sign "how are you?" she said whoa whoa slow down....how can I ? I decided to type on my iPhone to communicate to make it quick.
 
2 thing I assume that he have earplug that have an interpreter to tell him what someone actual sign. Or... It could be only one sign "thank you" he ever knew. Meet several celebrity and not-so-closer friend know 10 or less sign enough to make nice repeat.
 
I don't think Obama understood the deaf student. He kept saying "Thank you" to everyone...he just signed the same thing to him.
 
I recently add closed caption on this video. So, anyone who don't understand ASL. Enjoy! :)
 
You should've asked him "How things going about planning to nuke Iran?"
Obama response in sign: "Good!!"

Thank you for adding caption to an ASL video. That's what communication access is all about. Not many are willing to add captions to videos signed in sign language.
