Does anyone else struggle in math? I do and I have to do this level 2 course at college as I didnt get the grade that is the 'norm' which is a C and i got a D. I really struggle with maths and find it hard to understand at times no matter how many times they explain it! it is quite frustrating

it's ok. my friend is very intelligent but just not in math. he's dumbfounded and I tutored him enough to pass all general math requirement. Your college has a tutoring center and it's free. take advantage of it and learn it enough just to pass! it's better than fail.

Yeah, it's a gpa buster, that's for sure!

I am good at math as I am learning, but I know a lot of people wasn't good with the math. I am not really surprised.

I struggled with math from first grade all the way up to my day of graduating high school. My reading and comprehension skills were always above those of my classmates but as far as mathematics was concerned, I was a big fat failure. :|

As God is my witness, I will loathe mathematics till my dying day.

Math is the basic of everything. You can't really live without math at the moment, since we gotta manage time, money, gas, cars, girls, boys, games, and such.

Don't give up, ever. The easist way to understand math is to keep counting to 1 million. :P

It is.

If you can count to 10, then you can count to 1 million.

Counting--yeah i got that. What i don't "got" is multipication, long division, algebra, geometry and all the other horrifics that make math a pain in the you-know-what. Let's not forget what a crashing bore it all is.

If you can count, you can do multiplying, Divding, subtracting, and adding.

Easy.

My reading and spelling was well over average, its maths i cant do. I dont get fractions and stuff.

I recently found my college math book. If you will post a problem that you need help with, I'll give it a shot. I think that Vampy took statistics and several calculus courses during his college days, so there's a few people here on AD who can help out. Good luck with it.

deafteen,

i've taken statistics (last semester), trigonometry, calculus, geometry and algebra. if you need help, i'd be willing to do whatever i can if you post the problems you're having difficulty with.

by the way, have you considered getting a tutor for your math class?

its just fractions i cannot get at the moment, i have math once a week every 2 weeks

deafteen,

do you have a math tutor? if not, it wouldn't be a bad idea to find one.

No i do not but math is almost over with i just have to do the exam. My tutor Rachel and my communication support worker are tryin their best to try and explain it in a way so I can understand it.
