Hey, I am new to sign, and I mostly use signed English.

I've been trying to learn signs for math terms. I know a lot of books have words like "add" and "subtract" but where do you find more obscure terms like "vectors" and "integrals"? And what about branches of maths such as "calculus"?

Any advice or resources you could give me would be most appreciated.

And by the way, does anyone have any advice on how to transition from signed English to ASL?

That is a great site, thanks for posting it!

To the original poster, there are also different signs in different geographical areas or even differing from person to person in the same area. For example, I'm used to signing "mode" as OFTEN with an M-shape bouncing down the palm (because the mode is the value that appears the most often). Of course, if the person preferred M-O-D-E I'd fingerspell it for them. Also, I've seen "area" signed specific to the shape, so it could be a circle or a rectangle drawn in the air (like on a blackboard) with one or two A handshapes.

I've learned to be really flexible with math signs.
