I took Marty to doggie playgroup and to get groomed today. I went to the grocery store and when I got back home there was a message from the vet saying Marty was peeing blood ! I could only think not again , as this happen to my beloved Finlay when he had cancer. The playgroup is at a vet office and they have a grooming and boarding there too. Marty had an ultrasound and vet said it looks like Marty has a blood clot or a stone, a test is being done on his urine too. He is on med . The vet told me small white a prone to get urine infections so I will need to keep an eye on how he is peeing. I am really bummed out about this.

I'm sorry, but he is very young so that is on his side. I bladder stone or bladder infection happened more than one time to our old cat, and he recovered fine, so it doesn't always mean death when that happens.

I know it is very upsetting after Finlay died of cancer, but try to think positive, and I am almost certain Marty will be ok.

I'm very sorry that you have to go thru this. I hope it turns out well for Marty.

I can understand your concerns. My little dog Marley means everything to me. Sounds like Finlay will be ok. Good luck and please let us know.

Friend of mine has a huge black Lab....and he had the same problem....but is fine now!...Keep the faith...and good luck!

I used to work at animal hospitals, most of the time when dog or cat has blood in their urine, it is stone.

Often medication will resolves it and surgery is the last resort.

Marty most likely will be fine. :)

or could be kidney infection, dont muck around take marty to the vet asap

,,,and hate to say but you got to learn to be aware of what kind of 'safe for humans; foods that actually are lethal for dogs, like onions, chocolate, raisens, and keep slug pelly away from reach in the gardens that sort of thing, even soem 'harmless trees' can be quite toxic, like camillia...

I am aware of all of this and very careful to keep Mart away from toxic things. When mycity sprayed for mosquitos I told them not to spray infront of my building .

Marty was at the vet when the bloody urine was discovered.

Marty was at doggie playgroup and the woman that worked there notice blood drops on the floor. There where only two other dogs there with their owners and they saw the blood too. The play group is in a vet office but it not the vet Marty goes to. I just gave Marty a belly rub the night before bringing him to the playgroup and there was no blood on his penis . The woman at the playgroup brought Marty downstairs to the vet and the vet called and left me a message on my voicemail. I bring Marty to this playgroup because it is right in a vet office if anything happen a vet is right there.

Finlay dies of cancer 2 years ago. He was peeing blood , so I am worried about Marty as he has blood in this urnie . This is very upsetting going throught this all over again!

Marty was at the vet office when this happen , the playgroup it upstairs and the vets offices are downstairs. I will only bring Marty to a playgroup that is near a vet office so if Marty get hurt he can be seen by a vet right away.
I do not muck around with my dogs health!

The vet called me tonight and said Marty has crystals in his urine and I can keep on feeding a wet dog food called Weruva , that this is OK for him. Marty is about 17 lbs so I should feed one small can which is 5.5 oz with 1/4 cup of Blue Buffalo twice a day. The vet said I should keep Marty on the wet food and see if help with the bleeding. The Weruva has no grain in it and the best part is my very fussy dog like it!

great, fingers crossed, seems you're onto it, good stuff and keep up the good progress , seems Marty will get better, hopefully. Happy for you and happy for marty to be lucky with a good clever master who (you) cares.
