After I read this...
http://www.alldeaf.com/showthread.php?t=16116&highlight=marry+cousin

And I thought we want to discuss more about marry cousin in certain reason.

I saw the information from Ask Yahoo! at
http://ask.yahoo.com/20060223.html

Myself, I thought if both mother have different blood, it's possible that cousin can be okay and safe to marry 1st cousin. If both mother are themselves sister, it's easy to know that both are strong same blood and cause trouble give birth. *shurg* haha

The problem with cousins marrying is that it increases the likelyhood of recessive genetic traits appearing. If first cousins marry on occasion, the risk is pretty minimal. It's when families intermarry over several generations that the problems really start to occur.

Cousins are genetically related regardless of which parent it is through (as long as they are not "step-cousins"). Genetic traits are not passed via "blood". A human being's genetic code comes from the DNA of the father's sperm and the DNA of the mother's ovum.

I use to firt one of my friend's big sister. I never knew later, my mom found out that she and her mom are cousin which mean, me and my friend are distanct cousin. Therefore, I feel still safe to be with her, if my wish come true. haha. Oh well, she got marry someone else and have blessing child.

I agree with you MorriganTait.

I'm a victim of cousins marrying.. I have progressive hearing loss and this comes from cousins marrying.. that is I have genetic hearing loss.. :ugh:
Cousins marryings should be really avoided !!!

Really? I didn't know that. My maternal grandparents are second cousins, but for generations, my ancestors has became deaf or hoh in their 50's to 60's. My father is almost deaf but his ancestors aren't related to each other in same blood. I became deaf from Spinal Menigitis, but was hearing as a baby, so this is separate.

yep, this is true for my father's side.. There were a lot of cousins marriages in my father's side.. As a result, hearing impairment are common among my paternal uncles and aunts.. They all have some hearing loss from mild to moderately severe.. My father's mother cannot use hearing aid.. As for my generation, among my cousins I'm the only one who is hoh :ugh:
My sisters and my brother and my cousins have no hearing loss.. They're perfectly hearing.. It's because my mother's side has no cousin marriage.. and cousin marriage hasn't occurred in my generation :)
I sometimes become jealous of my siblings due to their perfect hearing..
There is no one whom I can share my thoughts in my family.. I'm totally lonely.. :ugh: ***unhappy***

Inbreeding is definitely a problem. What's wrong with marrying someone outside of the family? ;)

Please understand - not ALL genetic abnormalities have anything to do with inbreeding - only some, and only some would have a greater likelyhood of being passed down by inbreeding.

Then it's not safe for white to be with white. It's time go with white/black, white/asia, white/hispanic. lol

I know you are trying to be funny, but you actually raise a good point. Even from looking at simple life forms like plants, we see that bio-diversity (genetic diversity) leads to heartier life-forms more able to survive in the environment. This is one reason - to me - to support the "mixing of races" that you hear so many racist groups rally against.

When people talk about God wanting us to be separate from eachother based on race, it seems clear this is wrong just by looking at simple biology.
