C-Nice: Further thought- your age. Probably would recover from the operation quickly-assuming you are "good health" to tolerate a 4-5 hour operation.
As I live in Toronto Ontario and have access to a regional Cochlear Implant centre-Sunnybrook-- where they have been processing persons for the last 18 years and do have the collective experience on this matter.
