From my experience-became "totally" deaf after 14 3/4 years. Lost all hearing in Right ear-Feb 19/92 after extensive tests/scans etc in St Michaels ENT advised likely to lose all hearing in Left ear. When? Happened on December 20,2006. I was at Profound level for almost 25 years- if memory serves me. Long time ago.Implant-Advanced Bionics-Harmony activated Aug/07
