This has captured my heart.... I have written the Governor a postcard (effectively people will read that as the postcard reaches him!).
Heck even the people who helped put this grandmother in jail want her free today! She was convicted in 1984, a time when there wasn't enough resources to help abused women in marriages. She has served 20 years now, and she is only an accessory to her husband's murder! Normally I wouldn't make an effort in supporting clemency, as I don't condone murder - but all the finer points of her compassionate nature and kindness and a rather unusual group who would gain NOTHING to gain from this except kindness from the bottom of their hearts. I want more feel-good news in news, and I'm tired of all the depressing news about rape and murder. How about you?
Also something interesting to add - Mrs La Pinta has been very kind to Amy Fisher when Ms Fisher was in the same prison. Ms Fisher has championed this cause of freeing Mrs. La Pinta ever since she got out of jail. Yes, Ms. Fisher seems to have grown up with her own husband and a child, and writes advice columns now!

The Sayville Inn, a popular eatery on Middle Road that follows to the letter the orders of discriminating customers, has become the command-and-control center for an army of activists poised to fight what they consider an injustice.
