Question about manners.

My situation is this: I am currently in a play and this guy has a particular smell that makes me go into an allergic reaction. Mostly sinus problems. I don't know the guy well enough to say anything to him. So what is the appropiate way to handle this without offending him?

Ask him for tips how to get girls. Then if he successful explaining, joke about the axe products that draw all girls.

Then give him one. See if he get hint. Dont just tell him, give it to him. He will appreciate it a lot.

Take allergy medicine until the play is over and then don't become his best friend after.

Byrdie:
1. Can the guy do something about this? 2. If not, then quit the play. :lol:

:lol:SCBassist, if you're speaking from experience, it might be a whole lot cheaper to get your friends to shower a couple times a week! :lol:

Can't force 'em, right? If this is for a grade, ya gotta make do. BTW, is that his problem? :crazy: Better make it a double dude!
:thumb::thumb:

Maybe they can't be forced so next time do a double swoon and play like yer gonna die! That'll git their attention! :lol: After all, who wants to get charged with murder with a deadly weapon? Lol....

A performance while giving the offender the hint? Now thats acting! :bowdown:

I had a similar problem...a co-worker wore HEAVY perfume, and I would get an instant headache every time she passed by me.

I put out an anonymous note to everyone asking people to refrain from wearing heavy perfumes because some people are highly-sensititive to perfume and perfumed-based lotions, etc.

Is it a cologne or perfume? I have done lots of theater productions, and it is usually a requirement that articficial scents be kept to a minimum to avoid such problems as this in the other cast members. Of course, anti-perspirant is a requirement at the same time.

Lights and energy required during a rehearsal and performance increase the potency of most colognes and perfumes. Speak to the director, and ask him to address the situation when he does rehearsal notes.

I tactfully approach the guy about this situation as he invited me to talk in general terms.

Anyway, I found out that he changed his soap to Axe products which Deaf Mortgage has shown the picture of....I kind of told him that it was giving me sinus problems and he was nice enough to go back to his old soap and VOILA!

Sinus problems went away.
