Yup, all the pit bull types I've known where big loves to people although some had dog aggressions because of lack of socializing. I think the key with any large breed is that they have the ability to do significant damage and need to be treated with the respect that comes with that. Just like a car, I don't expect it to hurt me or anyone but it is capable.
Little dogs are the meanest of all but usually can't hurt people much. If every time someone got bit by a chiwawa it made the paper people would think they where they where blood thirsty monsters.
