A Malaysian woman has been jailed for two years for hooking up with the "teapot worshipping" Sky Kingdom cult, contrary to Sharia law which prohibits born Muslims converting to other religions.

Former teacher Kamariah Ali, 57, was cuffed in 2005 when the powers that be clamped down on the cult and demolished its two-storey sacred teapot symbolising the "purity of water" and "love pouring from heaven".

A warning to members who worship AD :Ohno:

I'm sure they will arrest anyone who worships anything other than their god.

"Oh, I worship that dog over there..."

"You're under arrest!"

In Asia and other countries, they do very weird things that should not be concern over little things that are not important and/or harmless. As for teapot worship, it is almost like a fortune teller which can read the leaves in the teapot or cup. To me it is really ridiculous law but that is their way of making the laws really ridiculous. It is the same here in United States and Canada, almost pretty much we have some ridiculous laws that we should not worry too much on. I don't know why they do that. They were way out of line when they handcuff the poor Malaysian woman and put her in jail almost three years. I will never understand how they can abuse women and children if they happen to be breaking the law over little things. Geeze. :ugh:

I'm a little teapot, short and stout
Here is my handle, here is my spout
When I get all steamed up, hear me shout
Just tip me over and pour me out!

(Sorry, I couldn't resist!) :giggle:

haha Wokamuka.. good one! hehe!

ouch i read that in the news and i was like thats ridulcous? I dont understand them. :(

Beboang, correction.............the arrest wasn't due to ASIAN attitudes about their religion being the only right one. Rather its due to INSANE Islam fundie extreme conservative Sharia law.

It is a case of saying "My religion is the RIGHT one!"

Geez...

I miss, miss, miss, miss, miss, miss sweet tea. Where I live - there is NO sweet tea in this city. (trust me - I've asked until I was blue in the face). I have to make my own.

If that teapot has sweet tea, I'm gonna be arrested with the woman for worshipping it.

That song reminds me of the movie I saw called "Storm Of The Century". I'm not sure if any of you seen that Stephen King Movie.
