How did Jacob ended up with 4 wives?? If Jacob got Rachel on his first wedding, I am quite sure he would have only one wife. Jacob really loves Rachel. Laban fooled Jacob into taking Leah on his first wedding so he had to work another 7 years to get Rachel. It was no easy task, taking care of 2 fighting sisters. As if things can't get any worse, both sisters each gave a concubine to Jacob as in rivalry to have the most number of children. Crazy!!
Now for my preference. I prefer monogamy. You see, if a man demand my faithfulness, it is fine with me as long as he is faithful to me. Faithfulness is a two-way street, not one way street. (Ditto for respect)
